The HK$500,000 Event generated a field of 45 entries who created an enormous prize pool of HK$32,430,000 with HK$9,730,000 ($1.23 million) to the winner.

The tournament had plenty of exciting moments with crazy hands developing throughout the day. The best eight players were paid, with household names amongst them like Mikita "fish2013" Badziakouski, Bryn Kenney, Paul Phua, Jason Koon, Ike Haxton or Peter Jetten.
