partypoker's record-breaking event will return between November 24 - December 4. The event set the record for the biggest-ever online poker tournament in terms of the total prize pool, which exceeded $21.8 million!
Last year, it was Manuel "Sheparentao" Ruivo, who walked away as the champion, which earned him an obscene $2,329,944. Ruivo outlasted a field of 4,367 entrants.
The most insane story of the event belonged to Blaž "Scarmak3r" Žerjav who managed to get 3rd for $1,364,688 after qualifying to the event through a $5 satellite.
Even though no official statement has been made, but the buy-in is believed to be higher than last time ($5,300) with players need to pay $10,000 to enter.
In addition to the biggest event, partypoker plans to build an entire festival with additional events leading up to the MILLIONS Online.
“Last year’s MILLIONS Online broke records and soared past the original guarantee to generate nearly $2M more than anticipated! This year is set to be even better and packed with even more action on the tables,” as it is stated on their website.
“This year’s MILLIONS Online will be the headline tournament in and [sic] online festival featuring tournaments across a wide range of buy-ins, with some massive guarantees.”
Thanks to partypoker team pro, Patrick "pads" Leonard, the PLO fans can also get excited, because the tournament specialist hinted that a PLO-only online tournament festival is also in the works.
