The Festival Online is Back and Partnered with 888Poker Again
Hosted exclusively by 888poker, The Festival Online is back again for the third edition of this tournament on 888poker’s platform. This event debuted in Bratislava, Slovakia in 2021 and is a successful and innovative tournament by this brand. In this article, we’ll look at what players can expect from the event.
Festival Online Series Powered by 888Poker
This poker tour offers innovative events; it doesn’t just offer poker, but also casino games and sports betting for a well-rounded experience. It’s slightly more suited to casual players who enjoy a variety of casino activities rather than professional poker players.
The series started on the 16th of July and runs until the 1st of August. While the debut event provided 21 tournaments with a slightly over $700,000 prize pool, this year boasts 53 events. The prize pool is around $1 million, down by $100k from last year’s prize pool for this event.
Format
While the prize pool is slightly down from last year, this event still offers many excellent opportunities. The buy-ins range from $5.50 to $525, and 36% of the events follow the Mystery Bounty format. That’s 19 events out of the 53 provided, while the rest is a mixture of PKOs, Pot-Limit Omaha, High Rollers, and Super Knockouts.
Unlike previously, this series has no scheduled breaks and allows players to enjoy the events uninterrupted. This iteration has the most events of its three editions held so far, though it won’t win the March 2023 edition in any other category. The #51 $250 buy-in Main Event features multiple Day 1s and a total guaranteed prize pool of $200,000.
Media Partner
It’s the third time 888poker teams up with The Festival to offer this series, the media partner once again PokerListings. This media platform will provide the official coverage of the event, including the Main Event’s Final Table.
Other Tournaments
This series is this operator’s fifth major poker event in 2023. The ever-popular XL Spring Series and smaller tournaments like the Summer Sale and Mystery Weekend Series precede it. Besides the dot-com market, this event also runs in the Ontario market, with a $100,000 prize pool delivered over 12 events.
While The Festival Online series isn’t available in Southern European markets, 888poker runs local live tours. These tours include the €100,000 CPN series in the Iberian Spanish-Portuguese market and the €100,000 IPO series in the Italian market.
See Where All the Action Is
Despite being only the third time the operator hosts this series, players can look forward to an exciting tournament with 53 events and an overall guarantee of around $1 million. With this continued partnership between 888poker and The Festival, we can expect more joint tournaments and look forward to what else these operators can provide to poker players.
