Although it has been communicated that the merge had been postponed to early 2013, most recently official sources have confirmed it to take place today, on 17 December.
PartyPoker is currently 4th on the market list as regards player traffic among the .com rooms and networks and it is expected to jump to the 3rd place, once joined by the Bwin players, replacing the iPoker network. The effect of Bwin leaving Ongame is expected to vary from 20% to a 50% loss in the traffic of the network. PokerScout places Ongame 7th on the market list and they are likely to drop to around 11th, near Merge, with the loss of Bwin.
The merge of the PartyPoker and Bwin player pools may affect the regulated markets as well: while both rooms are available in Italy and France, neither are major players, which might be redeemed by the fusion.
