James Bord wins WSOPE 2010 Main Event
After the remaining 22 players played it down to the best 9 of the £10,000+£350 event, the final table setup was as follows:
At the beginning of the finale, the chipleader was Victory Poker owner Dan Fleyshman, while WSOPE, WPT and EPT winner and FTP pro Roland de Wolfe, the most renown player of the field, started from the 4th place. Play began on the 22nd level (3,000/10,000/20,000) and, although the players showed aggressive game, it was no sooner than late in the 23rd level (3,000/12,000/24,000) when the first two of the field got eliminated (Inizan, Powell) by Lee. He was also involved in the showdowns with Fleyshman, Steinberg and Levi and was eventually eliminated himself by Bord.
The heads-up began with Bord being somewhat behind but he soon evened the odds and eventually emerged victorious: he went pre-flop all-in with T T against Baldassari’s 5 5 and with the borad being neutral (9 9 8 J A ), he won his first live event victory. The earnings are as seen below:
