The Berlin event was introduced into the EPT last year. The first tournament turned out to be "interesting" to say at least; on the 4th day of the tournament, 6 armed robbers broke into the casino, taking €242,000 from the cashier. They have been caught and are sitting behind bars by now.
This year's tournament will be held at the Casino Spielbank Berlin from April 5-10. The buy-in is €5,300. Since the EPT series is nearing its end (only the San Remo and the Madrid stops remain), all players on the EPT Season 7 Leaderboard will participate:
1. Fernando Brito 3750 points
2. Konstantin Puchkov 2330
3. John O'Shea 2225
4. Dario Alioto 2075
5. Kent Lundmark 1780
6. Martin Jacobson 1610
7. Tomer Berda 1585
8. Vegard Nygaard 1580
9. John Eames 1550
10. Kristijonas Andrulis 1535
Besides them, many famous pros will be at the felt in Berlin including Kevin Stani, Toby Lewis, Anton Wigg, Jeff Sarwer, Dominik Nitsche, Per Linde, Tony G, Chris Moorman and Guiseppe Pantaleo.

Last year's EPT Berlin attracted 945 players, who generated a €4,725,000 prize pool. The winner Kevin MacPhee took down a €1 million main prize. Roughly the same numbers could be expected this year.
The tournament will go according to the usual structure, players get 30,000 chips, blind levels start from 50/100 and increase every 75 minutes. Antes are introduced on level 5.
