The WSOPE was first held in 2007 in London in the Empire Casino, so this years' will be the 5th installment of the European counterpart of the world's most prestigious poker event, the World Series of poker. The location will change, however, this time around it will be held in France, in the Barriere Casino in Cannes.
THe 2-week tournament will start on October 7, and will entail 7 bracelet events. The €10,400 Main Event will kick off on October 15, the final table will be played on the 20th. The €2.680 NLHE 6-handed, €1.090 NLHE, €5.300 PLO, €3.200 NLHE Shootout, €10.400 NLHE (Split Format) and the €1.620 PLO 6-handed tournaments will also attract many players according to the tournament organizers.
The most interesting side event seems to be the €10.400 NLHE (Split Format) event, which will feature 9-handed play on the first day, 6-handed on the 2nd day, heads-up on the 3rd day and on the 4th day, the final table will be held.
Besides the various events, cash games will be running non-stop, and many more tournaments and satellites will await poker players. Ladies can take part in the €550 NLHE Ladies Event to test their skills against fellow amazons.
