In 2010, Benny finished second behind Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier at the EPT Grand Final High Roller, winning €316,000.
EPT London final table:
Martins Adeniya – 4,736,000
Mattias Bergstrom – 3,620,000
Benny Spindler – 3,435,000
Andre Klebanov – 2,730,000
Kevin Iacofano – 2,685,000
Juan Manuel Pastor – 1,915,000
Steve O'Dwyer – 1,250,000
Miroslav Benes – 370,000
First to leave the game was Czech Benes, who got into a coin flip against Spindler in the very beginning, and the cards didn't favor him. A few hands later, the German acquired a massive lead by catching Mattias Bergstrom's bluff. Then, Benny got all-in with T T against Martins Adeniya, holding A K. Thanks to the J 8 3 2 J board, Adeniya finished the tournament in seventh place, and Beny was sitting on half of the chips with six players left.
After this, PokerStars pro Juan Manuel Pastor, Mattias Bergstrom and Kevin Lacofano were the ones to leave. After them came Andre Klebanov's A Q all-in which got rivered by Steve O'Dwyer's A 5.
Steve O'Dwyer
Heads-up at the final table (where the game went on for six hours altogether) lasted for a fairly short time. Spindler went all-in preflop with A K and O'Dwyer called with K J.
Flop: 7 8 A
Although a Jack came on the turn, this was not enough for O'Dwyer to win, and Spindler's hand lasted throughout, winning him the £750,000 main prize and the bracelet. O'Dwyer must also be happy with his £465,000.
