WSOP 2013 - Event #4 - Beauprez Wins, Joe Cada Finishes 4th

Seven players from the initial 117 of Day 2 returned on the final day of World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 Event #4 $1,500 NLHE 6-Handed. Only one elimination remained until the official Final Table.

A total of 1,069 players entered WSOP 2013 Event #4 $1,500 NLHE 6-Handed for a prize pool of $1,443,150 and 108 ITM finishes. The Final Table took place on Day 3, once one of the seven returning players got eliminated:

Seat 1: Eric Blair – 685,000
Seat 2: John Beauprez – 796,000
Seat 3: Joe Cada – 671,000
Seat 4: Mike Mustafa – 1,280,000
Seat 5: Zohar Spivack – 393,000
Seat 6: Keven Stammen – 201,000
Seat 7: Manig Loeser – 931,000


Eventually, Zohar Spivack bubbled the finale, losing with A-J to John Beauprez’ pocket jacks.

The official final table draw was as follows:

Seat 1: Eric Blair – 500,000
Seat 2: John Beauprez – 1,233,000
Seat 3: Joe Cada – 705,000
Seat 4: Mike Mustafa – 1,234,000
Seat 5: Keven Stammen – 346,000
Seat 6: Manig Loeser – 805,000


The finale started on Level 21 (2,000/6,000/12,000) and it only took three hands to see the first elimination. WSOP 2009 $2,500 NLHE champion Keven Stammen opened to 27,000 from the CO, Beauprez 3-bet to 61,000 from the BB, Stammen shoved with 308,000 in chips and Beauprez called.

The aces held and Beauprez’s stack increased to 1,583,000.

Eric Blair then doubled op twice on Mike Mustafa in two flips, taking the lead. Mustafa, dropping to the bottom of the chipcount, soon shoved with 57,000 in chips and got called by Manig Loeser, Blair as well as Beauprez. The three active players checked all the way the A-5-3-9-T board and Blair won with pocket sevens, eliminating Mustafa in 5th place.

By Level 24 (4,000/12,000/24,000), Loeser got the chiplead and he increased his stack further by eliminating 2009 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Cada; the latter showed {#}A {#}7 against Loeser’s {#}A {#}9 and the board featured four diamonds.

The heads-up was set on Level 25 (5,000/15,000/30,000): Blair opened to 60,000 from the Button, Beauprez 3-bet to 145,000 from the SB and Blair called. The flop came {#}J {#}9 {#}3 , Beauprez c-bet to 170,000, blair went all-in with 790,000 and Beauprez snap-called.

Beauprez won with a better kicker.

Their clash lasted about four hours and the exciting end game brought about several turns. The final hand took place on Level 27 (5,000/25,000/50,000): Loeser opened to 100,000 from position, Beauprez 3-bet to 230,000, Loeser 4-bet all-in to 1,305,000 and Beauprez called.

With two pairs, Beauprez won the tournament.

Beauprez finished 58th in last year’s WSOP Main Event for $128,384, being his best live MTT results before. Now, he can add a bracelet and $324,764 to his account.
