As we reported just a week ago, Erik Seidel was defeated by Annie Duke, Howard Lederer's sister last year. The revenge came the next year, as Seidel managed to beat Chris Moneymaker on the final table, winning the $750,000 main prize and the 2011 title.

Chris Moneymaker earned $300,000 for his runner-up finish. The final table was played in the best-of three format, Seidel won 2 times straight. You can follow the results below:

Seidel commented on his Twitter:

"Don’t know what to say… Thanks everyone! 2011 has been an insane ride so far."

He is referring to his recent results this year:

3rd place, $46,560, $5k No Limit Hold'em (6-Max), 2011 PCA
4th place, $295,960, $25k No Limit High Roller, 2011 PCA
3rd place, $618,139, $100k NLHE, 2011 Aussie Millions
1st place, $2,472,555, $250k Super High Roller, 2011 Aussie Millions
5th place, $14,500, $5,100 Heads-Up Championship, 2011 LA Poker Classic
1st place, $144,570, $25,100 High Roller Event, 2011 LA Poker Classic

With his win at the 2011 National Heads-Up Poker Championship, Seidel overtook Daniel Negreanu on the all-time tournament money list:

1. Erik Seidel, $14,697,297
2. Daniel Negreanu, $14,116,192
3. Phil Ivey, $13,859,944

Six months ago Seidel was only 11th on the very same list, this half year has indeed been an "insane ride so far". If the 8-time WSOP bracelet winner continues to run so well, Negreanu and Ivey must do something if they don't want to be left behind.
