PCA 2011 Final Table
Eight players were dealt into the first hand of the $10,300 PCA Main Event final table at the Atlantis Resort. Chris ‘Gettin Daize’ Oliver managed to build a massive stack during the qualifying sections: he had triple the amount of chips Galen ‘GasparLeMarc’ Hall had, who was second to him.
The final table chip counts were as follows:
Play started on level 29 (10,000/50,000/100,000). It was shortstack Philippe Plouffe to be eliminated first: he went all-in with Q Q on the J T T 4 A board but Sam Stein won the hand with top two pairs (A K ). Max ’$Kill Game’ Weinberg was sent to the rail next on level 30 when Hall hit the straight against his two pairs. Hall then eliminated Bolivar Palacios, shortly before Oliver sent Mike Sowers packing.
On level 32 (20,000/100,000/200,000) Oliver went all-in with A Q which Stein called with A 9 ; on the neutral board, Oliver won with queen kicker and, after Hall eliminated Anton Ionel, remained heads-up with him. The aggressive, exciting clash between the two lasted about five hours, during which Hall managed to double up twice, amassing 40,000,000 in chips. In the last hand, they were all-in preflop: Oliver had pocket queens, while Hall showed A 8 on the A K 8 2 K board, winning the 2011 PCA Main Event with two pairs.
