New WPT Events in Europe

World Poker Tour released the dates of two new, televised events for Season IX. WPT Venice and WPT Vienna, both presented by PartyPoker, will be held 3rd – 8th February and 25th – 29th March 2011, respectively. Moreover, the first WPT National Series event takes place in Paris.

Harrah’s IPO Cancelled

According to a company statement, WSOP rights owner Harrah’s Entertainment withdrew its initial public offering announced only two weeks ago. Bankers say the $15-$17 for the shares was “too high a price given [Harrah’s] prospects and circumstances.”
