European Poker Tour Season 8 2011 Schedule Released

PokerStars has released the European Poker Tour (EPT) Season 8 schedule for the 2011 events. As regards the rest of the stops in 2012, further details are expected later.

WSOP Event #13 and Event #14 - $1,500 NLHE Shootout and $3,000 Limit Hold’em

Online poker pro Andrew ‘southrnctowl’ Badecker won the WSOP $1,500 NLHE Shootout (Event #13), besting a field that included Vitaly Lunkin, David Pham and Dan Kelly, among others. Event #14 $3,000 Limit Holdem was taken down by Tyler Bonkowski, defeating Brandon Demes heads-up.

WSOP Event #11 and Event #12 - $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low and $1,500 Triple Chance NLHE

Chipleader George Lind, Steve Billirakis and Viacheslav Zhukov returned from the total 9 final table players on Day 4 of the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low Event; Zhukov took home the $465,216 first prize. The $1,500 Triple Chance NLHE was won by David Diaz, who bested the likes of initial chipleader Nicholas Rampone and two-time WSOP champion Bill Chen.

WSOP Event #10 – Klein’s Patience Bears $544,000 Fruit

Geffrey Klein made it almost accidentally to the heads-up of the WSOP $1,500 NLHE 6-max event final table as shortstack, starting 1:10 behind Eddie Blumenthal who kept rivering flushes throughout the session. Turning the tide, however, Klein won the $544,388 first prize.

WSOP Event #8 - Getzwiller Wins $1,000 NLHE

Sean Getzwiller prevailed at the WSOP $1,000 NLHE Event as he defeated Sadan Turker in a 5-hour long heads-up. Jon Turner (PearlJammer) finished 3rd.

WSOP Event #9 - Matt Perrins Wins 2-7 Draw Lowball Event

The young British player, Matt Perrins took down the main prize of the WSOP $1,500 2-7 Draw Lowball event very confidently, he has beaten Chris Bjorin in the heads-up.

WSOP Event #2 - Jake Cody Defeats Hansen

As we reported, Gus Hansen was a clear favourite for the WSOP $25,000 Heads-Up Championship. However, it was Jake Cody, 22-year-old British poker pro, who took down the $851,192 main prize and the WSOP bracelet in the end.

WSOP Event #7 – Amir Lehavot Wins $10,000 PLH Championship

American poker pro Amir Lehavot won his first golden bracelet besting an amazingly strong field.

WSOP Event #5 and Event #6 – Seven Card Stud and $1,500 Limit Hold’em

WPT champion Eugene Katchalov won his first WSOP bracelet, defeating Alessio Isaia heads-up in WSOP Event #5 $1,500 Seven Card Stud. Winner of the $1,500 Limit Holdem event (WSOP #6) is Harrison Wilder, who bested Thomas Jamieson.

WSOP Event #4 – Allen Bari Wins $5,000 NLHE

Allen Bari had been way ahead of the other three players throughout the 4-handed session of the WSOP $5,000 NLHE Event; eventually, he earned his first ever golden bracelet playing aggressively, defeating Maria Ho heads-up.

WSOP Event #2 - Hansen In Final Eight

The Top 8 of the WSOP $25,000 Heads Up World Championship Event is set after day 2 ended. Gus Hansen eliminated his fellow Full Tilt Poker pro, Tom 'durrrr' Dwan in a fierce fight.

WSOP 2011 Kicked Off

WPT Spanish Championship: Berglund Becomes Youngest Champion Ever

18-year-old Swede player Lukas Berglund won the World Poker Tour (WPT) Barcelona Main Event. Defeating his seven opponents at the final table, he became the youngest champion of the tournament ever.

WSOP Heads-Up Rematches - Seidel vs. Johnny Chan as 3rd Match

The vote on the WSOP Heads-Up Rematches has closed, not surprisingly, voters chose the Johnny Chan vs Erik Seidel 1992 WSOP final match to be recreated during this year's championship. The event will air on ESPN on July 26.

WPT Championship: Seiver Wins Main Event, Seidel Takes Down Super High Roller

Scott Seiver won the $1,618,344 first prize of the WPT Championship Main Event, defeating 'Freddy' Bonyadi heads-up. The Super High Roller event is also finally over: Erik Seidel emerged on Friday as champion.
