The RakeRace Team

Every review, guide and deal on RakeRace has a person behind it — someone who plays on these sites with real money, negotiates with the operators, or answers your support messages. This page introduces them. If a name appears in a byline anywhere on RakeRace, you will find it here, with their background and what they actually cover.

Some of our team write under the player names they have used for years rather than their legal names. What we do not do is publish under a generic house account: every recommendation on this site has a person attached to it, and you can read what qualifies them before you take their word for anything.

Norbert came to poker as a sports journalist, by way of the television broadcasts that followed the poker boom, then spent years at PokerAkademia first as a player and then as an editor — writing most of the news archive that made it the defining community site of Hungarian poker. He has played since 2009, is still an active NL100 six-max cash regular, and spent three years in Team Hero's Hungarian cash game programme. He edits everything on this site and personally covers poker news, the industry and how the affiliate business works. In poker he is known as banoster.

A professional No-Limit Hold'em cash game instructor who arrived from competitive chess and kept the study habits. He coaches small-stakes players through live gameplay sessions, hand history reviews and strategy tutorials, covers cash game strategy, and writes a good deal of our online poker news. You can reach him on Discord at zender1668, where he answers strategy questions from RakeRace members.

Eighteen years in six-max No-Limit Hold'em cash games, with a speciality in solver work — and specifically in the translation problem, because a solver output is not a strategy until someone works out which of its lines a human can execute against real opponents. His articles take that route consistently: defending specific betting lines, playing marginal hands by position, and building a study routine that changes your winrate rather than filling a file.

A professional mid-stakes tournament player for over fifteen years, and the author behind our casino coverage. Tournament poker is his first subject — ICM, bubble decisions, the arithmetic that separates a good spot from one that only looks good. Since 2020 he has also played across a wide range of online casinos on his own accounts and with his own money, which is where the casino and casino game reviews come from.

Not everyone at RakeRace writes. Around twenty people handle deal negotiation, player support and payments — they are the reason a leaderboard prize actually lands in your account, and the reason the numbers on our payouts page settle every month. Support is available in English, German, Spanish and Hungarian through the channels on our contact page, normally within 24 hours.

What our reviewers check before a site appears here, and what makes a site lose its recommendation, is set out on our How We Test page. How we earn money, and why it does not decide our rankings, is on our Why Trust Us page and in our affiliate disclosure.
