The PokerStars 60 Billion promotion had been scheduled to reach its climax on Tuesday, as this had been the estimated date of the 60 billionth hand dealt at the site. In hopes of seizing the premium bonus, over 200,000 were playing at the time. The winner of the hand could grab at least $50,000, in addition to everybody being dealt into the hand receiving $500 after each VPP they accumulated in the past 50 hands.
The 60 billionth hand was finally dealt at a $5/$10 Limit Hold’em table:
‘Hedgehog87’ raised and ‘Pogo650’ 3-bet, followed by ‘DrPepel’ unexpectedly folding. The rest, of course, played the hand through on the 2h Ks 3h 6d 9d board. ‘Pogo650’ won with Qh 3c, in other words with no more than a pair of 3s. The British player received a total of $102,090 (VPPs included), while four of the other players got $21,045 (including ‘DrPepel’, who claimed to have folded 42) and ‘MeisterHahn’ got $11.040.
"I'm possibly the biggest luckbox alive over the last week or so. Two losing sessions ended in milestone hands," the winner said, adding that he could now afford to change his “old banger of a car.”
