Changes to the Rake Calculation - Lower SNG Fees at IGT Network

International Game Technology (IGT), a Nevada-based gaming giant purchased the Entraction Network in May 2011. Entraction, featuring rooms like Purple Loung and Point Poker is amongst the most dynamically developing poker networks on the planet, but with the acquisition by IGT, the plans got even bigger. The aim is to become a leading poker network, and compete with networks like the iPoker Network.
Entraction was renamed to IGT Poker Network this January, but even more meaningful changes happened starting 1st March.

The Entraction Network used to charge 9-10% fees at micro- and midstakes regular speed SNG games, and 7-8% at turbog games. Now as IGT, they reduced these fees to just 5%. This means that €10+1 SNGs will now be available as €10+0,5, which is one of the least expensive fees out there.

The cash games also went through some changes, IGT raised the rake cap at high stakes tables in NL, PL, 1/2PL and FL games.

New rake method:

• No Limit, Pot Limit, ½ Pot Limit and Fixed Limit for €5/10 and below: €0.01 in rake for each €0.20 in the pot and capped at €0.75 for 2 players seated, €2.00 for 3 players and €3.00 for 4-10 players. For pots between €0.20 and €0.39 the rake is €0.02p.
• No Limit, Pot Limit, ½ Pot Limit and Fixed Limit for €10/20 and upwards: €0.01 in rake for each €0.20 in the pot and capped at €1.50 for 2 players seated, €3.00 for 3 players and €4.00 for 4-10 players.

IGT raised the minimum buy-in for the NL and PL tables in order to make shortstacker players' life a bit harder; 30bb will be the minimum instead of 20bb.
