The runner-up on the 2012 money list is PLO specialist Jens ‘Jeans89’ Kyllönen, who won a total of $2,492,278, entirely from his strongest game. ‘Jeans89’ was particularly convincing early last year, making it 2nd in January and 1st in February on the monthly lists and continued to perform excellently throughout the year.
The Finn is followed by Andrew ‘EireAbu’ Grimason with $2,176,527. The Irish player also collected this sum in PLO and he also won one of the monthly contests, excelling in July in the online high stakes field.
4th in 2012 was Ben ‘Ben86’ Tollerene, who would have been in for a 3rd finish, had he only played PLO. He accumulated a profit of $2,460,717 in the game but lost in others, making it a still handsome final sum of $2,136,109.
Considered one of the best NLHE players today, Alexander ‘Kanu7’ Millar finished 5th on the annual online high stakes money list with $1,643,747, $1,640,400 of which being made at NLHE tables. The English pro thus became the 2nd most successful NLHE player again: in 2011, he was second only to Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates and this year only Niklas ‘ragen70’ Heineckerragen bested him. Heineckerragen won a total of $1,659,196 in NLHE but lost in other game types, finishing the year in 6th place in total with $1,640,967 in profits.
The online high stakes fish of the year is ‘Zypherin’, considered by many to be Guy Laliberté, who lost a total of $3,552,742.
