“This day has been a long time coming. Online poker in the United States is finally here and totally legit,” UltimatePoker brand ambassador Antonio Esfandiari tweeted and got followed by the rest of the pros.
Poker world champion Greg ‘gregy20723’ Merson first expressed his excitement over the launch of real money online poker in Nevada, and then he moved on to discuss his hopes that this is merely another step in the re-emergence of poker.
Jon ‘sketchy1’ Eaton apparently sat on an emotional roller coaster and kept tweeting all day long regarding the start in Nevada. In the beginning, he was disappointed to miss the first hands, preparing for a baseball match. Later, he announced that he had managed to register to UltimatePoker and was about to deposit to rob his opponents before sunset. Finally, he turned to threaten with boycotting the room for its overuse of captcha security, making players fill the form several times an hour... This glitch has since been taken care of.
Jimmy ‘gobboboy’ Fricke also sat down to the virtual tables; one of the most defining personalities as well as number one meme figure of poker, Fricke commented on the number of non-Nevadan players registering only to secure themselves the screen names they prefer, in case the room becomes available in other markets and even globally in the future.

UltimatePoker allows anyone, including non-US players to register, while real money games are open only to Nevada players. Apparently, a large number of players hope for the room to launch in other states as well, not to mention a possible federal regulation which would allow US players to return to the global market and UltimatePoker to offer real money games to anyone.
While the launch of UltimatePoker was not flawless, the small glitches have been repaired and an overall quick launch may get the room into an overly advantageous market position, as opposed to rival skins in Nevada.
