According to his other Twitter post, he also has his own opinion about the bats' navigation skills: "BTW, it is a myth that bats are blind. They actually have very good eyesight. I can believe it when they swoop down past your head:-) All you critical genius 'bat people', go google bats and find out they have good eyesight. The idea that they depend on 'sonar' is false."
The vampire bat is different from the fruit-eating bats, as it has a short, conical muzzle. It also lacks a nose leaf, instead having naked pads with U-shaped grooves at the tip. Vampire bats generally have small ears and a short tail membrane. Their front teeth are specialized for cutting and their back teeth are much smaller than in other bats. The vampire bats do not suck blood, but rather lap the blood at the site of the haemorrhage (where the prey is bleeding). Only the common vampire bat feeds on the blood of mammals, the hairy-legged and the white-winged vampire bat feeds on the blood of birds. They tend to live in colonies in almost completely dark places, such as caves, old wells, hollow trees, and buildings, and as it seems, the yards of poker professionals.
Brunson has moved away from the bloodthirsty animals to his summer home in Montana until the situation becomes any better.
