Daniel ’jungleman12’ Cates appeared at Full Tilt Poker’s high stakes tables in 2009. His first season was not very successful; Brian lost $453,056 in 45,396 hands. The 21 year-old high stakes specialist, however, has improved a lot, and 2010 brought him the breakthrough: he has won the yearly high stakes crown with a massive profit of $5,503,296 (145,212 hands).

Of course, jungleman12 dominated in NLHE and became the best in this game type with $3,519,502 (105,917 hands). His other winnings came from PLO ($1,353,855 in 32,990 hands) and mixed games ($632,939 in 6305 hands).

The second place on the high stakes yearly profit list has been taken by the Norwegian high stakes player Andreas ’Skjervoy’ Tobergsen with $3,778,763 won in 43,504 hands. Skjervoy only played PLO.

A fun fact: Skjervoy’s performance was not enough to be the most profitable PLO player, as Tom ’durrrr’ Dwan won $4,446,164 in PLO, but he was not as successful in the other game types.

This way, durrrr has to deal with taking the third place on last year’s profit list ($3,609,939 in 296,725 hands). He was profitable in PLO and 7-game ($1,009,288 in 62,311 hands), but lost in FLHE ($-967,136 in 1591 hands), NLHE ($-872,376 in 91,961 hands) and Omaha H/L ($-8,000 2 hands).

The fourth place on the list is taken by Phil Ivey ($3,002,798 in 48,644 hands), next comes Di ’Urindanger’ Dang with $2,126,722 accumulated in 185,838 hands.

The ’Fish of the Year’ title would go to Brian Townsend. The American has lost $2,534,059 (108,561 hands) under his own nickname, and $1,586,536 under the nick ’sbrugby’.
