Sorel Mizzi is 2010 BLUFF Player of the Year

The final results of the annual Player of the Year competition at BLUFF Magazine have been made public a few days ago, and it did not really come as a surprise that Sorel Mizzi came out on top.

Mizzi has lots of final table finishes behind his back from last year, not to mention his third place at the Aussie Millions Main Event. He was already leading the contest in March, not giving away his position in the rest of the year. He continued to collect BLUFF points by winning several tourneys and getting into the final table at almost every game he visited.

Runner-up is Tom Marchese, behind with more than 500 points. Third place has been taken by a Portugese businessman called Fernando Brito, who won a couple of ’High Roller’ events at the EPT around the end of the year, getting just a few points ahead of David Peters

Vanessa Selbst has also won two major tourneys in 2010, and this brought her to place five. She was planning to be going back to school in 2011, but we wouldn’t recommend giving up poker now that she is doing so great.

2009 winner Jason Mercier took the 9th place this year, which is still pretty impressive.
