23 years old Canadian Duhamel had not been totally unknown before, but he definitely emerged as poker star after winning the 2010 WSOP Main Event. He was chipleader at the final table of the tournament of an initial field of 7,319, and he displayed a convincing game winning the $8,944,310 first prize. In addition, he became sort of a national hero in his country, being the first Canadian ever to bring home the bracelet of the world champion.
"I want to be playing the biggest tournaments in the world," Duhamel said in an interview. "I'm going to do my best to pull off another big score." As a PokerStars Pro, he joined players like his fellow countryman Daniel Negreanu, Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Bertand 'ElkY' Grospellier.
