According to the official release, another pro has been added to the respectable list of names: 2010 World Series of Poker champion Jonathan Duhamel is also playing the exclusive tournament.
“This is my first Premier League and I cannot wait! I am excited and honored to play in such a unique event. I’ll have to adapt my game to the format that is completely different from what we usually see in poker tournament, but at the end you’ll see me with the trophy in my hand,” Duhamel commented the announcement.
Duhamel continued to impress the industry with major results, even after his WSOP Main Event victory in 2010. In 2012, he was runner-up in the PCA $25,000 NLHE 8-Max High Roller event for $634,550, won the $5,000 NLHE 8-Max event of the same tournament for $239,830 and finished 2nd in the L. A. Poker Classic $5,100 NLHE event for $121,115, in addition to four WSOP ITM finishes.
The structure of Premier League VI is the same as it was in 2012: sixteen players will be split into two groups of eight, playing four SNG rounds each. Points will be awarded for every finish, plus $2,000 cash for each acquired point.
Winner: 16 points
Runner-up: 11 points
3rd place: 8 points
4th place: 6 points
5th place: 4 points
6th place: 3 points
7th place: 2 points
8th place: 0 points
After the four rounds, the top three finishers of each group automatically enter the finale, while 4th and 5th place finishers play heads-up for two more finale entries.
