Overview of the Series
The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship Series will once again headline the poker calendar at Wynn Las Vegas, running from December 2 to 22, 2025. The festival offers something for everyone — from mixed games and bounty formats to high rollers, seniors, and ladies events. Buy-ins start at $600 and climb all the way up to $25,800, with millions in guarantees across the board.
The crown jewel of the schedule remains the $10,400 WPT World Championship, a televised event that has quickly become one of poker’s most prestigious tournaments.
WPT World Championship Main Event
The WPT World Championship kicks off on December 13 and runs until December 21, featuring three Day 1 flights. Surviving players combine for Day 2 and continue until a final table is set on December 21. The finale will be broadcast live, with players battling for one of the game’s most coveted titles.
In 2024, Scott Stewart emerged as champion, topping 2,392 entries and claiming $2,563,900.

WPT Prime Championship
Another highlight is the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship, which begins on December 7 and features four Day 1 flights. With a $5 million guaranteed prize pool, the event runs through December 12 before pausing until the live-streamed final table on December 20.
Last year’s edition was massive, drawing 9,670 entries. Zak VanKeuren triumphed for $1,162,350, defeating Jim Casement heads-up.

Omaha and Mixed Games
For players looking beyond no-limit hold’em, the schedule includes Omaha variants and mixed game formats. Among the highlights:

Multiple PLO tournaments, including a $3,000 PLO Progressive Bounty and $5-card PLO events.
High Rollers and Value Events
The most expensive entry on the schedule is the $25,800 NLH High Roller (December 17–18). But for players at smaller stakes, plenty of large guarantees are available:

$800 NLH kicks off December 2 with six Day 1 flights and a $1 million guarantee.

$1,100 NLH runs from December 16 with four flights and a $2 million guarantee.
With satellites and milestone qualifiers throughout the festival, plenty of paths exist to play into marquee events.
