A Grinder Steps Into the Spotlight
Jeremy Becker has long been a familiar name in Las Vegas poker circles, thanks to his relentless grind in daily tournaments. Known for piling up small-to-mid stakes wins at Wynn Las Vegas, Becker has steadily transitioned his success into higher buy-in events. That journey was on full display last week when he dominated the inaugural PGT Bounty Blitz series at PokerGO Studio.
Out of six events on the schedule, Becker made five final tables and posted three podium finishes, including a victory in the opener. While no player managed to capture multiple titles, Becker’s consistency separated him from the field, proving he’s more than just a local grinder.
Becker’s Run Through the Series
The series kicked off with a bang for Becker. In Event #1: $5,100 No-Limit Hold’em Knockout, he emerged victorious from a 46-player field, defeating Qin Zhao heads-up to claim $45,600 in prize money plus $10,000 in bounties. The final table featured a strong lineup with Josh Arieh (6th), Darren Rabinowitz (5th), and Andrew Lichtenberger (4th).
He followed it up in Event #2: $5,100 NLH Escalator, where he added another final table to his résumé, finishing sixth for $10,100 plus bounties, while Sergio Aido captured the title.
After missing the money in Event #3, Becker bounced back with a deep run in Event #4: $5,100 NLH Progressive Knockout (PKO). He reached heads-up play against seasoned pro Chino Rheem, ultimately finishing runner-up. The two chopped before Rheem closed it out, giving Becker a payout of $28,100.
The heater didn’t stop there. Becker wrapped up the series with a 5th place finish in Event #5 and a 3rd place result in Event #6, banking a combined $32,300 plus bounties from those two events.
With this latest performance, Becker’s live tournament earnings have surpassed $3.6 million, according to The Hendon Mob.
A Look at the Competition
While Becker stole headlines with his consistency, several other top names grabbed titles in the PGT Bounty Blitz. Sergio Aido, Landon Tice, Chino Rheem, Jason Hickey, and Sam Laskowitz each secured wins in the $5,100 buy-in series, showcasing the depth of talent at the PokerGO Studio.
The mix of knockout formats, mystery bounties, and escalating structures created a unique dynamic that gave both established pros and rising talents chances to shine.
