‘Gypsymagi820’ had played SNGs before his Sunday Million second finish as well but on considerably smaller limits and lost a total of $63,000 in over 5,000 hands. His high stakes entry was convincing nevertheless: in only a couple of days, he was up $34,422, playing against the likes of ’SkaiWalkurrr’, ‘Ben86’, ‘mrGR33N13’, ‘Ike’, ‘Adonis112’ and ‘Lotte Lenya’. His results launched him to the 3rd place of the $1,000+ HU SNG money list in 2013.
A sudden turn followed at that point: in a high stakes HU SNG session against the Finnish account of ‘LadyLaura777’, he lost 25 out of 26 matches. Suspicious as it is in itself, the incident is further complicated by the fact that ‘LadyLaura777’ was an entirely new account with no game history whatsoever from before the session. It became apparent that ’gypsymagi820’ was not running into a downswing but conducted chip dumping, resulting the closure of his account.
LadyLaura777’s graph can be seen below:
Many believed that ’gypsymagi820’ must have had been underage, trying to chip dump his winnings so that these are not taken from him. However, this year’s EPT Berlin has proved them wrong, revealing the true identity behind the account.
Due to his high stakes HU SNG results against the best pros, the Finnish player has gained incredible popularity on the international forums and now, he is in the top of the EPT Berlin Main Event player field, sitting behind 112,200 in chips and waiting for Day 2. His name is Kyosti Isberg, who was interviewed by the Pokerisivut magazine last weekend.

“My fear of my creditors was in the background, I handled the matter in a bit of a stupid way. Since then, the inspection carried out by the Stars has been concluded and they re-opened my account and I got to keep all the money. I've made things right with my creditors and I am actually in a pretty good situation now to pursue my life. This tournament has already been a great experience and I will try to arrange things so that I can also play in the Grand Final in Monaco,” Isberg told the magazine.
According to Finnish regulations, a person who owes money to another person or a company and there is legal action in effect to force them to repay the debts, banks are notified and it is possible for them to automatically transfer money in person’s bank accounts to the creditors. This is what Isberg tried to avoid but he eventually repaid them anyway.
Isberg is currently playing the EPT Berlin Main Event. After Day 1A and 1B, there are 485 players left with 136 ITM finishes. Whether the amateur Finn is to dominate live games as well, remains to be seen.
