CoinPoker is preparing to stage the biggest single tournament in its history, with the new The One set to offer a massive $5 million guaranteed prize pool in October.

The tournament will run from October 4 to 12, 2026, combining a relatively accessible $250 buy-in with a seven-figure first prize. The eventual champion is guaranteed to collect $1 million and will also receive a unique 1-of-1 trophy.

For CoinPoker, the numbers make The One a significant step beyond anything previously offered as a standalone tournament on the platform.

26 starting flights across nine days

The One will use a multi-flight format designed to accommodate a very large field. A total of 26 Day 1 flights are scheduled between October 4 and October 12, giving players numerous opportunities to qualify for the next stage.

Day 2 will take place on October 12, when the surviving players from the opening flights come together and the tournament moves towards its conclusion.

The key figures for The One are:

  • Dates: October 4–12, 2026
  • Buy-in: $250
  • Guarantee: $5,000,000
  • First prize: $1,000,000
  • Day 1 flights: 26
  • Day 2: October 12
  • Winner's trophy: unique 1-of-1 trophy

Promotional material surrounding the tournament also suggests that The One is intended to become more than a one-off experiment. CoinPoker appears to be positioning the event as an annual flagship tournament that could return to the schedule each year.

A huge field will be needed to reach the guarantee

The combination of a $250 entry fee and a $5 million guarantee makes the tournament particularly ambitious.

If approximately $230 from each entry goes into the prize pool, CoinPoker would need roughly 21,740 entries to generate $5 million organically. Across 26 starting flights, that corresponds to an average of around 836 entries per flight.

That gives The One an unusual profile. Rather than relying on a high buy-in to create a huge prize pool, CoinPoker is attempting to generate one of its largest tournament fields ever.

The $1 million guaranteed top prize should provide an additional attraction. A player entering for $250 will effectively have the opportunity to turn that buy-in into a seven-figure score.

CoinPoker is already testing its tournament traffic

The timing of The One is notable because CoinPoker is currently experiencing some of its strongest tournament activity to date.

The room is running its $50 million guaranteed Global Online Poker Championship (GOPC), its largest tournament series so far. According to figures released by CoinPoker, the first two weeks of the festival produced more than $30 million in prize money and attracted over 800,000 entries.

Before The One begins, another major test is also coming.

CoinPoker is scheduled to host a $3 million guaranteed Main Event with a $530 buy-in. Until October, that tournament will temporarily hold the distinction of being the largest guaranteed individual event ever offered by the site.

The operator has also experimented with large-field tournaments through its CoinMillion events, several editions of which have carried $1 million guarantees.

The One, however, raises the stakes considerably.

CoinPoker targets its biggest tournament yet

The launch comes during a period in which CoinPoker has been expanding its presence in the international online poker market.

Its tournament schedule has grown substantially, while the operator has invested heavily in ambassadors, content creators and partnerships with established poker brands and events.

The site has also been building larger standalone tournament brands alongside its traditional festival schedule. The One appears to be the clearest example of that strategy yet: one tournament, a moderate buy-in, a huge field target and a headline seven-figure prize for the champion.

The concept therefore differs from the usual high-roller route to creating a multi-million-dollar prize pool. CoinPoker is instead betting on volume.

From October 4, players will have 26 opportunities to make it through Day 1. If the room can attract the field required to cover the guarantee, The One could become one of the defining events on CoinPoker's tournament calendar — and potentially the beginning of a new annual flagship for the site.
