KKPoker Pot Fold: New NLH & PLO Cash Game Format

KKPoker has expanded its cash game offering with Pot Fold, a fast-paced format that completely removes preflop betting and concentrates all meaningful action on the flop.

Pot Fold is available in both No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limit Omaha. The concept is the same in each variant: every player gets to see the flop, where a single betting round determines who stays in the hand and reaches showdown.

There are no traditional blinds at Pot Fold tables. Instead, every player posts an ante before the cards are dealt.

Once players receive their hole cards, there is no preflop betting round. The game moves directly to the flop, where the first decision is made by the player in the SB position.

From there, the name of the format essentially describes the available options: Pot or Fold.

The first player who elects to continue makes a pot-sized bet. Players acting behind can either call the required amount or fold their hand.

If at least two players remain after the flop action is completed, there is no further betting. The turn and river are dealt automatically before the remaining players proceed to showdown.

In simple terms, a Pot Fold hand follows this structure:

ante → flop → pot/fold decision → automatic turn and river → showdown.

If everyone folds to a single player on the flop, that player wins the pot without a runout.

KKPoker illustrates the format with a three-handed example featuring a $0.03 ante.

After all three players post their antes, the pot contains $0.09 when the flop is dealt.

The SB bets the pot for $0.09. The BB folds, while the Button calls the $0.09 bet.

The pot increases to $0.27 and the betting action is over. With two players still in the hand, the turn and river are dealt automatically and the winner is determined at showdown.

One of the defining characteristics of Pot Fold is therefore not only the absence of preflop action, but also the fact that there are no further decisions after the flop betting round.

KKPoker currently offers Pot Fold in both NLH and PLO.

The underlying rules of Hold'em and Omaha remain unchanged. What changes is the betting structure and the way each hand progresses.

With the entire preflop betting round removed, every starting hand reaches the flop. At that point, players face the only meaningful decision of the hand: commit the required pot-sized amount and see the entire remaining board, or fold.

There is an obvious parallel with fast formats such as All-In or Fold, although Pot Fold places the key decision at a very different point in the hand. Instead of making an immediate preflop commitment, every player sees the flop before deciding whether to continue.

Due to the format's unusual structure, several features available at other KKPoker cash game tables cannot be used in Pot Fold.

Straddle, Post Big Blind, Ante Up, Bomb Pot and EV Chop are all unavailable, while Pot Fold is also not offered at FLASH tables.

Another notable detail is that hands played at Pot Fold tables do not count towards a player's VPIP statistics.

Pot Fold adds another fast-paced option to KKPoker's cash game lineup, but approaches shortened poker in a different way.

By eliminating both preflop betting and all betting after the flop, the format reduces a hand to a single decision point. Everyone gets to see the first three community cards, but once the flop arrives, players must immediately decide whether they want to continue.

If a pot-sized bet receives a call, the rest of the board runs out automatically and the hand goes directly to showdown.

Pot Fold is now available in both NLH and PLO on KKPoker.
