In $215 Event #1 NLHE, it would have been shuffled up and dealt at 19:30 CET with a $350,000 guaranteed prize pool. Buy-ins, however, did not cover anything near that sum, which resulted in a massive overlay. PartyPoker paused the event for 45 minutes and, eventually, they cancelled it altogether, reimbursing players for their buy-ins.
Additional Pokerfest events have become later cancelled: only the 20 PartyPoker Points Event #2 NLHE and the $530 Event #6 NLHE were actually held. The latter event was also paused in the late registration phase; a huge overlay developed here as well but in the 120 minutes of the prolonged registration, this shrank to a couple of hundreds of dollars.
PartyPoker has apologised for the paused and cancelled events and referred to technical difficulties. Most players, however, suspect that the room took the actions to avoid the gargantuan overlays.
PartyPoker does not re-launch the cancelled events but offer two freerolls of a total worth of $15,000, one on each of the following two Saturdays as their means of apology. The tournaments run for tickets for later Pokerfest III events.
