As a reaction to the growing dissatisfaction with the actions of the room, PartyPoker has issued a statement to confirm the technical difficulties they had been unable to overcome prior to the launch of Pokerfest III. Additionally, they had announced that Event #1 $215 NLHE will be organised on 12 May, a week after the official finale of Pokerfest III. The guaranteed prize pool of the tournament will be $350,000.
Next to Event #1, Event #3 $108 NLHE ($75,000 guaranteed prize pool), Event #4 $2 NLHE ($5,000 guaranteed prize pool) and Event #5 $22 NLHE ($50,000 guaranteed prize pool) have also been cancelled. Whether these will also be made up for is still unknown; given the fact that the overlay was not as major as in Event #1, however, PartyPoker is likely to consider them as good as done with the reimbursement of the buy-ins.
Moreover, as a means of apology, PartyPoker organises to freerolls of a total worth of $15,000 on each of the next two Saturdays. The tournaments run for tickets for later Pokerfest III events.
Pokerfest III Day 2 on Monday was held according to schedule, with all four events launching as planned.
