Late Registration SNGs, CG Time Bank and Multi-Entry Events Come to iPoker - UPDATE

In October, the iPoker network introduces several major improvements with its upcoming software update. Re-entry and multi-entry tournaments, cash game time bank, late registration Sit n’ Gos and "toast" notifications are coming.

The iPoker network, serving skins like William Hill Poker, Betfair Poker and Paddy Power Poker, is currently occupying the runner-up position on the online poker traffic list. In an effort to maintain and strengthen its position, the network is introducing several improvements in its next major client update to better meet players’ needs and expectations. One of the most important novelties are re-entry and multi-entry tournaments.

In re-entry events, players have the opportunity to buy in again for a limited period of time after being eliminated. The option will be available in certain freezout tournaments. In multi-entry tourneys, players get to buy-in with several identities at the same time. For instance, in a $10 multi-entry event, buying in for $40 will secure four tables for the same player, allowing for a greater chance of winning. Obviously, the individual identities cannot be seated at the same table. If a player manages to get to the final table with more identities, their stacks will be added up. Multi-entry events are as yet offered exclusively at Full Tilt Poker but they come to the iPoker rooms as well as of 7 October.

As far as cash games are concerned, the most significant novelty here is the time bank. Time banks have been present in the network at multi-table tournaments for years but now cash game players will also be allowed to get extra time to meditate on the most difficult spots. In comparison with its concurrence, this is hardly a groundbreaking improvement for iPoker but at least players will be able to customize their time banks; for example, they can set it to automatically start over certain pot sizes, sparing themselves the trouble to kick it off manually.

Arguably the most intriguing novelty is the introduction of late registration Sit n’ Gos. No further details have been announced regarding its mechanics, except that it will be displayed similarly to what users are used to at multi-table tournaments. Late registration SNGs are set to launch on 27 October.

The update hits both the iPoker 2 and iPoker 1 rooms.

Pursuing continuous development, iPoker has introduced several improvements in the course of this year. The Elite VIP Loyalty System has been made available, a HTML5 mobile client was rolled out and HU re-matches as well as shootout tournaments have been introduced. Apparently, the network keeps developing to permanently keep its position in the market, second only to PokerStars.

Update

According to the latest news, another innovation to roll out with the update will be the "toast" notifications. This is in essence a pop-up window feature, which notifies players of pending decisions, while also offering the option to make your move right through the notification.

The pop-up window will appear in a subtle way, aiming not to disturb the player. As seen in the picture below, all relevant information will be displayed, including the hero's hand, the board, pot size and opponents' actions. Players can make their move through the display's buttons.

However, the window does not offer all the options, only calling and folding. If the player wants to raise, they will have to do that at the table. The innovation primarily aims at players who often pursue side activities while playing poker, like browsing Facebook or chatting. With the "toast" notifications, the game will be made simpler for them.

The innovation, like the previously listed, hits the entire iPoker 2 and iPoker 1 networks in October.
