Due to the upcoming live and online tournament series and the Burning Man festival the Regular Season will be delayed.
According to their schedule, the battles of the Global Poker League were supposed to continue next week but the organizers have announced that it will be delayed until September 20.
The reason for the change is the fact that a large number of players involved in the League are attending the Burning Man festival between August 28 - September 5.
The change will also influence the schedule of the GPL Finals which were scheduled for the end of November. In the new schedule the Playoffs will be played at the end of November and the Finals will be played in the beginning of December.
The venue of the Finals has also been changed, instead of the SSE Arena Wembley in London the Finals will take place in Las Vegas.
The main problem with the changes is that the Playoffs were originally scheduled for TwitchCon, the GPL wanted to promote their new game, HoldemX.
Currently the GPL is in the Regular Season phase, they have already ran 8 weeks of the 14 weeks of battles total, aswell as games in the Summer Season. The current leaders in the Americas conference are the Montreal Nationals while the Eurasian conference is lead by the Moscow Wolverines.
