The director of the Winning Poker Network, Phil Nagy has announced that he is starting a crusade against the bots playing in the network.
As we have previously reported, a poster on the 2+2 forums called ''Themadbotter'' told the community that there are still bot-friendly rooms around and that he has made $30,000 in six months at the Americas Cardroom tables by botting.
He also warned players to stay away from WPN and Bovada, which prompted the following response from Phil Nagy, the leader of the network.
''Maybe I'm going to be making mistakes. It is possible that I will also be banning real players, because they look like a bot. I will be ruthless...and if you are amongst these players, I'm sorry, but this is war, there are always stray losses. I will show my sadistic side. I will make very, very clear to everyone that we are not a bot-friendly network, compared to any other network or room. Give me 30 days...''
It's interesting to note that ''Themadbotter'' has since reversed his claims, he says he only wrote what he did as a joke, but he only said this after his identity was revealed on the forum.
One thing is for sure, this issue has raised plenty of attention regarding botting issues and could persuade other rooms to take these problems more seriously aswell.
