Draw Poker
In draw Poker, players are dealt a complete hand face down, they then try to improve it by replacing cards from the dealer. Draw Poker’s most common game is five-card draw and can be found in the majority of casinos and online gaming apps.
Stud Poker
Stud Poker is slightly different but still a very popular form of Poker. A player will receive a combination of face-up and face-down cards in multiple betting rounds. The most common games where this variety of Poker is played is a five-card and seven-card stud.
Community card poker
One of the best-known variants of poker is community card Poker, commonly found is Texas Hold’em and Omaha Hold’em, played in tournaments across the globe. Players try to complete their hidden hand with shared face-up cards whilst competing against other players.
Mixed poker games
By selecting a fixed time or number of hands, you can select mixed Poker games, commonly known as H.O.R.S.E or other, shorter acronyms. Including the games Texas Hold’em, Omaha high-low, Razz, Seven-card stud and Seven-card stud Eight-or-better – choose a variety of games to play in one large game of poker which keeps you on your toes at all times.
High Chicago or Low Chicago
Either of these versions can be played in any of the stud high games. In order to win you need to have the highest or lowest spade in the game – the highest spade would win in terms of High Chicago and receive half the pot, the lowest spade would win in terms of Low Chicago and receive the other half of the pot. It is possible to win the entire pot if you have the highest and lowest spade in the same hand.
Follow the Queen
Follow the Queen is a typical variant in the Dealers Choice Poker games. When a Queen is dealt face-up, all Queens are wild, then the next card dealt after a face-up Queen is the designated wild card. If no Queens are dealt then there are no wilds for that hand.
Countdown
All cards are dealt face up in this 5-card game. After the first round of bets has been placed, the player then discards some cards to receive new ones, any number from zero up to three cards. In the second round its zero to two cards, and then finally zero or one card. After the final round of bets, all players must show their hand, the player with the highest five cards wins.
Billabong or Shanghai
Players are dealt three cards, two face-up one face-down, and the first round of betting then takes place. Then two community cards are dealt towards the centre of the table followed by the second round of betting. A third community card is dealt with third betting round following, then a fourth community card with the final betting round. The player with the best face-up Poker hand begins each round of betting. Players then play their best five-card hand using any combination of community cards alongside the three in their hand, the best hand wins.
Guts
Guts is a three or fewer hand card game whereby players decide if they are ‘in’ or ‘out’ in order to compete against other players’ hands. The losers of the rounds generally match or double the pot which rapidly grows to leave one worthy winner.
Five-O Poker
Both players must play five hands with five cards simultaneously. Once all five hands are down, a single round of betting takes place. The winner is then decided by comparing the five hands against the opposing players' hands, hand one will go against hand one and so on. Whoever wins three or more hands wins altogether, unless a player folds on a bet that was made. If you win on all five hands it’s known as a Five-O win.
Chinese Poker
In this 2-4 player Poker game, players are required to form three Poker hands from 13 cards, two five-card hands and one three-card hand. The aim is to have them increase in rank, if a hand does not adhere to this then the hand is declared dead.
Kuhn Poker
A very simplified version of Poker with two players using three types of card from a deck, for example, all aces, twos and threes. More like a game of theory, one card is dealt to each player, which they can bet on. If both players place a bet or pass, the player with the highest card wins, other than that, the betting player wins.
