GGPoker is back with its second year of the popular microFestival. This poker tournament is suitable for players with more modest bankrolls. However, high rollers looking to scale down on the high-stakes action can also have fun in this low-stakes tournament.
Having started on June 23rd, this event will run until July 7th, providing two weeks of exhilarating action. We examine what to expect from this festival and its events.
MicroFestival’s Launch
GGPoker first launched the microFestival in 2023, making this the second edition. The 2023 event also boasted up to $10 million in guarantees and a $1 million guaranteed Main Event. However, it ran earlier in June, from the 4th to the 25th.
The 2024 Edition
The 2024 microFestival keeps the same overall guarantee of $10 million and primarily the same format as last year. Players can participate in Pot Limit Omaha, PKO, and No-Limit Hold ’em tournaments. Like last year, the buy-ins will range between $1 and $25, though the actual minimum buy-in is around $1.88.
Still, this festival is ideal for a diverse set of players, as new players can take a chance without needing a large bankroll. It’s one of the largest low-stakes tournaments globally but boasts big wins that attract casual and experienced players alike.
Main Event and More
Like last year, the Mystery Bounty Main Event has a $10.80 buy-in and a $1 million overall guarantee. However, the poker room boosted the previous year’s $50,000 top bounty to a whopping $100,000 this year, doubling the figure.
Besides the Main Event, players can also look for other exhilarating events. These include the micro Zodiac Bounty, the $300k Micro Global MILLION$, and the $200k Omaholic Mystery Bounty MILLION$ events.
Second Chance
Introducing the unique freeroll promotion sets this microFestival apart from the previous year. The festival is GGPoker’s bid to make poker accessible for any player. According to Sarne Lightman (GGPoker’s Managing Director), the freeroll promotion is their way of “thanking our players and ensuring everyone has multiple opportunities to win big.”
The promotion is coined a “Second Chance” and will provide a free ticket to GGPoker’s $5,000 freeroll events to players who fail to cash. Around 50 freerolls will be held over the festival period, giving away around $250k in prizes.
As such, this promotion ensures that players still have the chance to win even after losing in the tournament.
Our Exclusive Race at GGPoker
We have more good news for players looking forward to joining the action in the microFestival. At RakeRace.com, we run an exclusive promotion for players who sign up at GGPoker using RakeRace.com.
Link your two accounts, and you can participate in the $8,000 rake race while claiming all the central promotions GGPoker offers. A $1 rake equals one point in the race, so it’s a race against other poker players to climb the points leaderboard and win prizes.
