Negreanu wins Golf-Poker Championship

Daniel Negreanu has won the golf-poker championship last weekend at the <em>EPT Vilamoura</em>. Fourteen entrants tried their luck and skills at <em>PokerStars</em>' €1,100 buy-in contest, where they first had to collect bonus chips for the second round in teams.

John Duthie, mastermind of EPT and his 2 partners proved to be the best in the golf segment, they earned 5500 chips, while the hobby-golfer Daniel Negreanu with Marcin Horecki (Polish pro player), Tom Larsen (Norvegian pro golfer) and Teddy Sheringham (English pro national football player) have won 2500 chips.

At the casino, the players started the poker segment with 5000 chips. Negreanu faced Pieter De Korver, 2009 Monte Carlo EPT champion at the final table, where the Canadian beat him on a Q high board with Q-J against the dutch player's J-2, winning €8,000. For the second place, De Korver got €4.444.
