Up until November, 2010 Canadian poker pro Jonathan Duhamel had barely had any major live event winnings; all of a sudden, however, he became one of the most renowned poker players in the world by winning the WSOP Main Event final table. In addition to acquiring the World Champion’s coveted golden bracelet, $8,944,310 was added to his bankroll. The young player consequently stated several times that he intends to prove it was not mere luck or variance.

His first step to do so was his performance last weekend in the EPT Deauville €10,000 High Roller event. Despite being eliminated from the main event of the tournament, he won this one, along with the €203,232 first prize by defeating Alain Confino heads-up. Confino went all-in with AJ which Duhamel called with AK – the rest you know.
