Steve Heller, CEO of WPT promised many exciting new features to come in the new season, and that they want to entertain their viewers in new and edgier ways:
"As Season IX rolls out, fans will find all the great poker action they’ve come to expect with a new, faster-paced, edgier tone. We are introducing new elements, graphics and talent throughout the season. Each week viewers are guaranteed to see something unexpected and uniquely WPT."
There are quite a lot of big changes considering the structure and the organization of the show.
The two commentators will be the same, Mike Sexton will be joined by Vince Van Patten, but there are also some new faces you will definitely encounter. Kimberly Lansing will return as the "anchor", who will do tableside interviews, and report from the tournament floor. The royal flush girls will again make an appearance, 4 of them at each tournament. The most interesting addition to the show, however, is the introduction of the "Raw Deal" segment, hosted by Tony Dunst, whom we already wrote about, in which he will analyze played hands and players at the tables.

Also, WPT now includes some interesting footage of action preceding the final table. They used to present only the final tables; but this has changed. For the better, we think.
Also, the broadcast will change slightly, the WPT show will now use four-color decks, which are quite standard in online poker, now they are on TV, too.
