NAPT Mohegan Sun Bounty Shootout Final Table
It was Jason Mercier, who won the $25,000 Bounty Shootout at the very same place in 2010, besting 35 players for $475,000. This year, he only had to pay $10,000+$300 and defeat 77 fellow players to defend his title. Which he did, eventually.
10 players made it to the final table, who already won $36,000 or $40,000 each (depending on table size) for winning their table: Taylor Von Kriegenbergh, Joe Sweeney, Micah Raskin, Michael Pesek, Eugene Katchalov, Jimmie Guinther, Scott Blackman, Jonathan Jaffe and Jason Mercier.
An additional $2,000 was awarded to anyone, who eliminated a player, so Mercier already won $54,000 by the time he got to the final table. He marched to the final heads-up, where he faced the 2011 PCA Super High Roller champion, Eugene Katchalov. On the 2,000/4,000/500 blind level, the final hand came about, and it was a very interesting one. Katchalov raised to 8,000 pre-flop, On the 9 8 7 flop, Mercier check-raised all-in.

Mercier took down the title with higher 2 pairs. He won a ticket to next year's NAPT Bounty Shootout plus $246,600, and of course respect for being able to win the same 2 years straight. However, Vanessa Selbst wasn't there to witness With this win, the 24 years old PokerStars pro has more than $5,5 in live tournament earnings.
