WSOP Event #30 and Event #31 - $1,000 Seniors NLHE Championship and $3,000 PLO

<strong>James Hess</strong> won the <em>WSOP</em> Championship for players over the age of 50, the $1,000 Seniors NLHE (Event #30). The golden bracelet for winning the $3,000 PLO event (<em>WSOP </em>#31) went for $10,000 PLH Championship 3rd finisher <strong>Sam Stein</strong>.

On Day 3 of WSOP Event #30 $1,000 Seniors NLHE Championship 37 players started playing for a seat at the 9-handed final table. At Level 25 (5,000/15,000/30,000) it was to be set as follows:

First out was Leo Whitt, followed by Walter Browne, Charles Cohen, James Jewell and Gregory Alston. In the slow-paced game that rarely featured postflop action, Hess eliminated Joseph Bolnick in 4th and Craig Koch in 3rd place, winning with a kicker on both occasions. The heads-up then was over in a mere 10 minutes.

Sam ‘KingKobeMVP’ Stein had the chiplead over the field of 26 players in the beginning of Day 3 of WSOP Event #31 $3,000 PLO. The 9-handed final table was played down to with the elimination of Tex Barch at Level 22 (8,000/16,000):

Following shortstack Dilyan Kovachev, Austin Scott, Brock Parker and Zimnan Ziyard got eliminated. Adam Junglen, who played his second final table in this year’s WSOP, was out in 5th place before Christian Harder and Warren Fund were also railed.

Stein started the half an hour long heads-up with 4,245,000 in chips against Ben Lamb’s 1,920,000. In the last hand, they pushed their stacks on the {#}3 {#}K {#}J {#}T board:
