Yung ‘Andy’ Hwang started in the chiplead at the 8-handed final table of the WSOP National Championship. The WSOP Circuit (WSOPC) National Championship was organised in 2011 for the first time as an invitational-only event for a golden bracelet, despite not being an integral part of the World Series.
In 2012, WSOP organised the event with a different structure: in addition to the best 100 players of the WSOPC Season 2011/2012, the best 100 WSOP and WSOPE players of the past two years could also register for $10,000. The entire sum from the buy-ins went to the prize pool.

A total of 157 players entered the event for a prize pool of $1,570,000. The best 8 of them to sit down to the final table were the following:

The only lady in the finale, Amanda Musumeci was out first, followed by 2011 $3,000 PLO champion Sam Stein, David ‘ODB’ Baker, Hwang, Matt Keikoan and Huy Nguyen to leave two WSOPC winners, Nikolas Stone and Ryan Eriquezzo to play heads-up.

Nikolas Stone: 2,550,000
Ryan Eriquezzo: 2,260,000

Caesars Atlantic City Main Event champion Eriquezzo managed to gain an edge over WSOPC St. Louis winner Stone, who shoved preflop in the last hand.
