EPT Sanremo 2012: Ludovic Lacay Is Champion

French professional poker player Ludovic Lacay took down the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Sanremo 2012 Main Event for €744,910.
The 8-handed final table was left for Day 6 of the EPT 2012 Sanremo €5,300 Main Event. Jason Lavallee started in the chiplead with 5,545,000 in chips, slightly ahead of the most prominent member of the finale, Ludovic Lacay.

It took over three and a half hours for the first elimination to occur, when Ismael Bojang went 3-bet all-in with 1,500,000 on Lavallee’s raise and met his {#}T {#}T with {#}A {#}K on a neutral board. On Level 30 (10,000/50,000/100,000) Lacay eliminated Adrian Piasecki, before taking care of Angelo Recchia. In between, Micah Raskin and Jason Tompkins were also sent to the rail.

Artem Litvinov was out in 3rd place, Lacay and Lavallee made a deal: the former would receive €644,910 and the latter €538,089, with €100,000 left in for the winner.

Lacay increased his edge in the heads-up (starting with 15,800,000 in chips against Lavallee’s 8,000,000), entering the last hand with about 19,000,000 in chips. Lacay bet 175,000 on the {#}Q {#}4 {#}T flop, Lavalle raised to 400,000, Lacay 3-bet to 800,000 and Lavallee called. The turn came {#}J , Lacay bet 1,400,000, Lavallee pushed his remaining 4,905,000 and Lacay called.
