16 players returned on Day 5 of the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final 2013 €10,600 Main Event, after playing it down from 34 participants, who were led by Johnny Lodden in the chipcount with 1,232,000. Among those eliminated, we find the likes of Ville Wahlbeck (29th), Oleksii Kovalchuk (28th), Noah Boeken (26th), Luke Schwartz (22nd), Paul Volpe (20th), Mickey Petersen (18th) and Kevin Iacofano (17th).

Those who made it to Day 5 had Andrew Pantling in the lead with 2,248,000 and he was accompanied by an immensely powerful field, as seen below:

Play started on Level 22 (2,000/8,000/16,000) and the first elimination took place on the next (3,000/10,000/20,000), when Mateusz Moolhuizen ran into Grant Levy’s top pair. He was followed by Goran Mandic and Andrew Lichtenberger on the same level, as well as Victor Ramdin and Tjauw Foe later on.

On Level 25 (4,000/15,000/30,000), John Juanda was railed by Steve O’Dwyer: Juanda raised to 93,000 from the CO to be 3-bet by O’Dwyer to 195,000 from the SB. Juanda then shoved and O’Dwyer snap-called.

Vasili Firsau came next in 10th place and the final table bubble burst with the elimination of Freddy Deeb, still on Level 25. He moved all-in with his remaining 266,000 in chips on Pantling’s raise to 67,000 and the latter called.
