WSOP 2013 - Event #35 - Jeff Madsen is $3,000 PLO Champion

Jeff Madsen led the final 19 players to Day 3 of World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 Event #35 $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha with 922,000 in chips. They played for the first prize of $384,420.

640 players registered to WSOP 2013 Event 35 $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha and 137 of them survived Day 1. The money bubble of 72 finishes burst on Day 2 but only the top 19 players could save their chips for Day 3, where they played it down all the way to the winner. Among those eliminated along the way are Tom Schneider (60th), Josh Arieh (58th), Kevin Iacofano (45th), Jared Bleznick (31st), Andrey Pateychuk (30th), Steve Sung (29th), Phil Hellmuth (26th), Jonathan Duhamel (24th), Will Failla (23rd) and Giuseppe Pantaleo (21st).

Two times WSOP champion Jeff Madsen had the chiplead (stack: 922,000) and he was accompanied by the likes of Scott Clements, Isaac Hagerling, Ashton Griffin, Jason DeWitt, Jarred Solomon, Mike Sexton and Christian Harder.

After eliminations, the following Final Table seats were drawn:

Play continued on Level 22 (8,000/16,000) and the first elimination took place after only 10 hands: DeWitt called all-in on William Black’s pot bet on the {#}3 {#}Q {#}6 {#}7 board and ran into the latter’s nut flush. Joni Jouhkimainen, Black, Ryan Chapman, Clements and Danny Hannawa followed. The heads-up was set when Michal Maryska called all-in on Douglas Corning’s pot re-raise preflop.

Corning and Madsen started the heads-up with around even stacks:

Madsen grabbed the lead early into the clash and it was over soon. On Level 27 (25,000/50,000), Corning moved all-in with 1,115,000 in chips on the Th 2c Kh flop and Madsen called.
