The WSOP 2013 Event #56 - $2,500 No Limit Hold’em kicked off on 1 July with 1,736 players, who built a prize pool of $3,949,400.242 entrants survived the day, with the WPT champion Anthony Ruberto in the lead and the likes of Andrey Pateychuk, Pius Heinz, Erik Seidel, Matt Stout, Matt Marafioti, Dan Smith and Jesse Sylvia in the field.

The 198 in the money finishes were reached on Day 2 on Level 13 (200/800/1,600), Bob Panitch taking the unpleasant role of the bubble boy. Eventually, 23 players packed their chips to return on Day 3. Play started on Level 22 (2,000/6,000/12,000) and it took about six hours to reach the Final Table; on Level 27 (5,000/20,000/40,000), Alex Dovzhenko lost his chips in two hands against Dan Owen, finishing in 10th place.

The Final Table seat draw was as follows:

Seat 1: Sebastien Comel – 2,190,000
Seat 2: Nicolas Levi – 735,000
Seat 3: Sergey Lebedev – 1,480,000
Seat 4: Nicolas Faure – 1,095,000
Seat 6: Josh Arieh – 1,195,000
Seat 7: Vincent Maglio – 2,135,000
Seat 8: Dan Owen – 1,000,000
Seat 9: Nikolaus Teichert – 1,555,000
Seat 10: Kirill Rabtsov – 645,000

First out was one of the shortstacks, Nicolas Levi, who moved all-in from the SB on Nikolaus Teichert’s open. The latter called and showed A-Q and his kicker was enough against Levi’s A-3. Initial final table chipleader Sebastien Comel followed, 4-betting all-in for 1,090,000 in chips on Josh Arieh’s 3-bet and Nicolas Faure’s call on his original bet. Faure folded and Arieh called.

Comel: {#}K {#}K
Arieh: {#}A {#}Q

Board: {#}4 {#}7 {#}6 {#}A {#}9

The ace on the turn meant the end of the event for Comel.

Faure, Kirill Rabtsov and two-time WSOP champion Arieh busted out after that, the latter pushing in his chips on the {#}A {#}K {#}T flop. Owen folded and original better Vincent Maglio called.

Arieh: {#}A {#}9
Maglio: {#}Q {#}J

Turn: {#}6
River: {#}T

Maglio had his straight on the flop and it was over for Arieh.

After Sergey Lebedev finished in 4th place, the heads-up was set with the elimination of Owen, who shoved his chips with K-J in his hands but Teichert’s A-5 held out with a second ace on the flop.

Nikolaus Teichert

The remaining two did not manage to decide the fate of the golden bracelet, which will be left this way until tomorrow. Teichert has a moderate edge but a single major pot can change everything...

Nikolaus Teichert – 7,620,000
Vincent Maglio – 5,415,000

Day 3 results are as follows:

3rd: Dan Owen – $312,516
4th: Sergey Lebedev – $225,392
5th: Josh Arieh – $164,768
6th: Kirill Rabtsov – $122,036
7th: Nicolas Faure – $91,586
8th: Sebastien Comel – $69,627
9th: Nicolas Levi – $53,593
