As usual, the last starting day saw the greatest field in WSOP 2013 Event #62 $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event. This year’s Day 1C, however, even broke the turnout record of 3,418 from 2012, featuring 3,467 players for a total number of 6,352 entrants in the World Series Main Event. The prize pool accumulated is a hefty $59,708,800 and the first prize is $8,359,531.

It had also been expected to see the most of the very elite of the poker industry on this day. Well, expectations have definitely been met with the likes of Vanessa Selbst, Humberto Brenes, Bertrand Grospellier, Randy Lew, Jennifer Tilly, Jonathan Little, Dan Idema, Phil Laak, Robert Salaburu, Matt Marafioti, Dan Kelly, Marvin Rettenmaier, Shane Schleger, Antonio Esfandiari, Jason Mercier, Jason Somerville, David Vamplew, David Sands, Isaac Haxton, Cole South, Davidi Kitai, Daniel Negreanu and Huck Seed at the tables.

In addition, former WSOP Main Event champions Carlos Mortensen, Robert Varkonyi, Huck Seed, Joe Hachem, Jamie Gold and Jonathan Duhamel were also in play, as were top bracelet hunters Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth. Joining the best of the poker was a world class professional from the soccer pitch, Gerard Piqué, who managed to survive the day, if slightly.

By the end of the day, Mark Kroon managed to grab the chiplead, that of the overall field included, with a stack of 246,300. A bit behind, Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi finished 3rd on Day 1C with 176,100 in chips and the top ten also included Joseph Cheong, who has 143,375 before him.
