SuperStar Showdown: Blom Beats Cao for $150,000

Viktor Blom has won a clear victory over Rui Cao in last Sunday’s SuperStar Showdown session, taking his opponent’s entire challenge bankroll of $150,000 in 2,257 hands.

WSOP Event #30 and Event #31 - $1,000 Seniors NLHE Championship and $3,000 PLO

James Hess won the WSOP Championship for players over the age of 50, the $1,000 Seniors NLHE (Event #30). The golden bracelet for winning the $3,000 PLO event (WSOP #31) went for $10,000 PLH Championship 3rd finisher Sam Stein.

WSOP – Weekend Results: Events #25, #26, #27, #28, #29

Five of the events concluded during the weekend were $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low, $2,500 NLHE 6-max, $10,000 Limit Hold'em, $1,500 NLHE and $2,500 10-Game Mix/6-Handed. First prizes went to Chris Viox, Oleksii Kovalchuk, Daniel Idema, Andy Frankenberger and Chris Lee, respectively.

WSOP Event #23 and Event #24 - $2,500 8-Game and $5,000 NLHE Shootout

After playing at several WSOP final tables, John Monnette won the $2,500 8-Game event, defeating Eric Buchman heads-up. Canadian poker pro Mark Radoja took down Event #24 $5,000 NLHE Shootout for $436,568.

WSOP Event #21 and Event #22 – $10,000 Seven Card Stud and $1,500 PLO

French poker pro Bertand ’ElkY’ Grospellier won WSOP $10,000 Seven Card Stud (Event #21), making it to the Triple Crown with a WPT and an EPT title. Victory in $1,500 PLO (Event #22) was Elie Payan’s, another French player who won his first live event championship ever.

PokerStars Saturday Line-Up: New Events Launch on 25th June

PokerStars has introduced the Saturday Line-Up, a new set of tournaments kicking off on 25th June. The Line-Up includes seven new, weekly events that range from $2.22 to $55 in buy-ins. All tourneys have at least $20,000 guaranteed prize pools.

WSOP Event #19 and Event #20 - $2,500 Limit Hold’em and $1,000 NLHE

Darren Woods won WSOP Event #19 $2,500 Limit Hold’em, which makes him the third British player to win a bracelet in this year’s championship. Event #20 $1,000 NLHE was taken down by Jason Somerville, who single-handedly (pun intended) defeated Yashar Darian heads-up.

WSOP Event #17 and Event #18 - $1,500 HORSE and $1,500 NLHE

American online pro Aaron Steury won the $1, 500 HORSE (WSOP #17) event, defeating Michael Chow heads-up. The $1,500 NLHE (WSOP #18) title went to Foster Hays, who earned his first live tournament victory ever.

Patrik Antonius Wins Tennis Prop Bet Against Brandon Adams

As the two players agreed in January, Brandon Adams and Patrik Antonius indeed played their prop bet tennis match in Las Vegas. Brandon Adams didn't have a chance of winning, Antonius defeated him 6-0, 6-1.

WSOP Event #15 and Event # 16 – $1,500 PLH and $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball

Brian ‘tsarrast‘ Rast won WSOP Event #15 $1,500 PLH, defeating Allen ‘Chainsaw’ Kessler heads-up. Event #16 $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball was taken down by John Juanda, who managed to turn the tide in the HU against Phil Hellmuth.

European Poker Tour Season 8 2011 Schedule Released

PokerStars has released the European Poker Tour (EPT) Season 8 schedule for the 2011 events. As regards the rest of the stops in 2012, further details are expected later.

WSOP Event #13 and Event #14 - $1,500 NLHE Shootout and $3,000 Limit Hold’em

Online poker pro Andrew ‘southrnctowl’ Badecker won the WSOP $1,500 NLHE Shootout (Event #13), besting a field that included Vitaly Lunkin, David Pham and Dan Kelly, among others. Event #14 $3,000 Limit Holdem was taken down by Tyler Bonkowski, defeating Brandon Demes heads-up.

WSOP Event #11 and Event #12 - $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low and $1,500 Triple Chance NLHE

Chipleader George Lind, Steve Billirakis and Viacheslav Zhukov returned from the total 9 final table players on Day 4 of the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low Event; Zhukov took home the $465,216 first prize. The $1,500 Triple Chance NLHE was won by David Diaz, who bested the likes of initial chipleader Nicholas Rampone and two-time WSOP champion Bill Chen.

WSOP Event #10 – Klein’s Patience Bears $544,000 Fruit

Geffrey Klein made it almost accidentally to the heads-up of the WSOP $1,500 NLHE 6-max event final table as shortstack, starting 1:10 behind Eddie Blumenthal who kept rivering flushes throughout the session. Turning the tide, however, Klein won the $544,388 first prize.

WSOP Event #8 - Getzwiller Wins $1,000 NLHE

Sean Getzwiller prevailed at the WSOP $1,000 NLHE Event as he defeated Sadan Turker in a 5-hour long heads-up. Jon Turner (PearlJammer) finished 3rd.
