In just a couple of months, the cash game traffic at FTP dropped to about 3,000, which meant a 4th position behind PokerSTars, PartyPoker and iPoker and it appeared to continue to decrease. However, in the past period, the 3,000 average seemed to solidify and it has also been sufficient for the room to reclaim its second position behind PokerStars, with PartyPoker and iPoker dropping significantly, as seen below.
The drop in the traffic of PartyPoker is justifiable, leaving several markets recently, even though they continue to accept previously registered players. In addition, a number of scandals have made life harder for them recently, including the segregation of players and technical difficulties during Pokerfest III. iPoker’s traffic diminishing is a bit more surprising, given the several improvements they have recently implemented, including anonymous tables, new mobile clients and a multi-level VIP system. Still, they also had their share of blunders, like the ban on player-to-player money transfers.
The current cash game traffic lsit of the .com rooms and networks is as follows (weekly average):
1st: PokerStars – 21,000
2nd: Full Tilt Poker – 2,950
3rd: iPoker – 2,650
4th: PartyPoker – 2,500
5th: 888poker – 2,050
6th: Microgaming – 1,220
7th: Bodog – 1,180
8th: Dollaro – 730
9th: Revolution – 700
10th: Merge – 560
The first stats have become available on the first ever legal online poker room in the US, Ultimate Poker. As had been expected, the room is rapidly improving, even though its true test will come once its rivals launch as well.
