The author of the book, Barry Greenstein is without doubt one of poker's highest authorities, a legend. As Doyle Brunson goes on to say in his Foreword written for the book, he's one of his top ten all-time best poker players. Often called the Robin Hood of Poker, Greenstein have not earned his name without any reason, he often donates millions to charity. He plays various tournaments and cash games, and often participates in GSN Network's High Stakes Poker, and most recently, in PokerStars' Big Game.
The book itself is not concerned with the theory, the basics and the mathematics behind the game, but much more with the psychological background and the intelligent way of thinking required for playing poker successfully. Greenstein puts much emphasis on what he thinks is the most important: honesty. Honesty to ourselves most importantly. This book therefore is obviously different from the other ones on the market.
An illustration from the book
Spread across 316 pages (which are beautifully illustrated and are printed in colour), the reader can find very interesting, out of the ordinary chapters here, such as "How to Behave in the Poker Society", "Poker and Your Family", "Money Management", which all provide powerful and useful information for the more advanced and seasoned players. The author also touches upon topics such as "Poker and Your Sexuality" raising many important topics that the reader might be aware of, but has definitely not seen it written down ("Casinos hire good-looking employees to attract and distract costumers").
We strongly recommend this book to all poker enthusiasts, but mostly to those players, who already know much about the basics and the mathematics of poker, although, their mentality could use some improvement. This book will definitely help them to be more successful players. It's a key to becoming a professional poker player.
