The 2025 edition of the Battle of Malta is expanding its online reach, with WPT Global now on board as one of several official online partners. Marking the live festival’s 10th anniversary, this year’s event will take place between October 28 and November 5 at Casino Malta, and expectations are high following last year’s record-breaking turnout.
WPT Global Launches Step Satellites to Malta
WPT Global is offering weekly satellite paths to Malta, giving players a chance to win Battle of Malta packages valued at $1,280. Each package includes:
- €600 Battle of Malta Main Event entry
- Hotel accommodation for three nights
- A travel allowance
Players can qualify through a step satellite system that starts at just $0.55, with freerolls running from Thursday to Sunday. Two full packages are guaranteed to be awarded every week.
The satellite structure includes:
- $0.55 → $5.50 → $55 → $1,280 Final
- Freerolls awarding $275 in satellite tickets
This is the first time WPT Global is collaborating with the Battle of Malta, joining a growing list of international operators supporting the event.
A Competitive Field of Online Partners
WPT Global isn’t the only site offering qualifiers to this year’s festival. Several major platforms are also giving players a route to sunny Malta:
Operator | BOM Package Value | Inclusions |
---|---|---|
ACR Poker | €8,000 | Main Event, ACR High Roller, €700 tournament credits, travel & hotel |
WPT Global | $1,280 (~€1,160) | Main Event, 3 nights hotel, travel allowance |
Optibet | €1,200 | Full step satellite path from €0.01, including hotel and Main Event |
KKPoker | €1,060 | Main Event entry + hotel, with mobile-focused satellite options |
ACR Poker, formerly known as Americas Cardroom, plays a leading role this year by running the Battle of Malta Online series and sponsoring multiple live events — including the €5,000 GTD Ladies Event (Nov 3) and the €2,200 Super High Roller (Nov 4).
Winamax Absent from 2025 Lineup
One notable absence is Winamax, which had previously been a prominent Battle of Malta partner. In both 2023 and 2024, the French operator ran satellites for €2,200 packages and even hosted a €400 buy-in 6-Max Side Event last year. Its departure leaves ACR and WPT Global to dominate the 2025 sponsorship spotlight.
Expectations High for BOM’s 10-Year Celebration
The Battle of Malta has become one of Europe’s most popular mid-stakes live poker festivals. In 2024, the event generated €4.7 million in total prize money, more than doubling its €2 million guarantee. With expanded online qualifiers and broader international involvement, the 2025 edition is poised for another record-breaking year.
